This is where I’m supposed to tell you all the nice things about me, right?
I’m a former dog trainer. I retired in ’02, 27 years after I went to dog training school to become a private, in home behavior specialist. Loved my job. Loved working with dogs. Became disheartened with dog owners, truth be told. Some people just need a Ficus, not a dog.
My mother came to live with me and my husband, and with her non-hodgkin’s lymphoma and blindness, needed more care. I retired my successful training business to help with her care, and have never looked back. Several years later, after her relocation to heaven, my husband and best friend joined me in the retirement realm. We bought a 38′ 5th wheel trailer and 2 years ago traded that in for a 40′ class-A Travel Supreme bus.
We love to travel……they call it “glamping” now. Works for us.
The former dog trainer has not adopted another dog, after the last of her 3 Standard Poodles passed over to the rainbow bridge. I will someday, but cats are easy. They travel well, don’t need late night walkies, don’t bother anyone, and rarely banned from campgrounds. They allow us the freedom to visit museums, people, shopping. All without worrying if we get back to the RV in time before they need to be relieved. We have 2 of them. Works for us.
